I know from experience that moving to a foreign country can not only be quite exciting, but also quite nerve-wracking. Having someone by your side to guide you through the transition, not only helping with the planning beforehand but also by offering support and advice after you arrive, makes all the difference.
Relocation services
In early 2015, I began working part-time as a freelance relocation consultant for a real estate company in Leverkusen. Over the years, I found working with my international clients so rewarding that, in 2022, I decided to shift my professional focus entirely towards this field.
Since then, I have been working as a freelance relocation consultant in the Rhine-Ruhr region (primarily in the greater Düsseldorf and Cologne areas), supporting various large relocation companies as well as numerous private and corporate clients who contact me directly.
I work with a broad spectrum of clients, including young professionals, families, and top-level executives of major international corporations. I am currently supporting employees from more than twenty well-known companies as they settle into Germany, providing tailored assistance that goes far beyond simply finding a new home.
Services on site
The following services can be booked individually or as part of a tailored package:
- Assistance in finding temporary accommodation
- Accompanied apartment or house search, including review and translation of rental agreements, as well as accompanied handover with handover protocol
- Registration with utility providers (electricity, gas, water, etc.), telecommunications (internet, mobile, telephone, TV), and the broadcasting fee service
- Registration or re-registration at the local residents' registration office
- Bank account opening
- Insurance advice (health, liability, household, etc.)
- Application or renewal of residence permits
- Application for temporary work permits (Fiktionsbescheinigung)
- Driver's license transfer
- Tax class change
- Application for child or parental benefits
- Application for a police clearance certificate
- Application for a tax identification number
- Accompanied search for a school or kindergarten
Integration assistance
In addition to handling all formal requirements, I place great importance on helping my clients feel at home in their new environment from the very beginning and provide ongoing support should any challenges arise during the adjustment process. To ensure a smooth and successful integration, I offer a range of additional services, including:
- Recommendations for language courses
- Assistance in finding foreign-language-speaking doctors, pharmacies, and service providers (e.g. hairdresser, dry cleaners),as well as lawyers or other professionals
- Guided orientation tours
- Practical information about daily life in the new city, including recommendations for leisure activities, shopping, and more
- Cultural introduction to life in Germany, tailored to the client's country of origin
- SOS coaching and support in crisis situations
- Interpreting and translation services
Repatriation
I am also pleased to assist you or your employees with returning to your home country, providing comprehensive support throughout the process, including:
- Termination of existing contracts (rental agreements, internet, electricity, bank accounts, gym memberships, etc.)
- Accompanied handover of the apartment or house, including a handover protocol
- Coordination of deposit refunds and settlement of utility bills
- Assistance with setting up mail forwarding
- De-registration at the local residents' registration office
- Processing pension insurance refunds, where eligible
